The West Papua Provincial Government together with the High Prosecutor’s Office agreed to accept the formation of the Affirmation Prosecutor for 2022. This route prepares 250 quotas for all districts and city.
“In terms of quantity, we do have a shortage of human resources. The number of prosecutors in West Papua is still lacking than it should be,” said the Head of the West Papua High Prosecutor’s Office W Lingitubun, Wednesday (5/1/2022).
He said this acceptance would use a two-field scheme. 50 formations will be given to the administration. The remaining 200 are for the formation of prosecutors.
“This struggle uses Otsus funds and these funds go through regions in West Papua. Usually, the funds are bigger than the provincial government,” he said.
Approved by the AGO and Kemenpan RB
Around November 2021, representatives of the West Papua Government and the regents/mayors as well as the West Papua MRP visited the Attorney General’s Office and the Ministry of Civil Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan-RB). Their arrival was in order to discuss the acceptance of the prosecutor’s affirmation.
“Lastly, we were together with the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and the Special Autonomy DPRD and several staff from the Governor’s Office last November. At that time I asked for 250 for the prosecutor and administration and the Menpan RB accepted it,” said West Papuan Kajati W Lingitubun.
Then in December 2021, the Governor, the Regional Secretary and the Regents then visited the Kemenpan RB.
“At that time, the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform informed that there would be an acceptance of 250 candidates for prosecutors and administration,” he said. Kajati said that the acceptance should have been done in 2021. But it was a consideration, because the time had entered the end of the year so it was postponed to 2022.
“It is hoped that in May 2022, the acceptance of candidates for prosecutors and administration will be carried out. This is done by marathon,” he said.
Governor of West Papua Comes with His Approval
The acceptance of the OAP Prosecutor, which will be held in 2022, has received a positive response from the West Papuan Government. Governor Dominggus Mandacan in every activity continues to convey this.
Realizing that the province of West Papua is still having a high unemployment rate, Dominggus invites all parties to continue to strive to reduce unemployment and poverty.
“Let’s join hands to reduce the unemployment rate in West Papua,” said the Governor of West Papua, Dominggus Mandacan, recently while attending Christmas Together with ASN.
Dominggus said that through the special autonomy fund, West Papua would get a quota of 250 candidates for prosecutors and administration at the Prosecutor’s Office. This has been approved by the Attorney General’s Office and the West Papua High Court.
“We will get an additional quota of prosecutor candidates and administration at the Prosecutor’s Office. This year it will be realized,” said Dominggus.
According to him, the funding for the acceptance of prospective prosecutors comes from the special autonomy fund and is specifically for Papuan people.
