2021 Annual Report – The New Face of Papua’s Development

Building Papua, Building Indonesia, is the commitment of the Government of President Joko Widodo – Vice President K. H. Ma’ruf Amin for the 2019-2024 period.

In the second year of the government of President Joko Widodo – Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, a number of achievements have succeeded in realizing the new face of development in Papua.

According to the Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Johnny G. Plate, in 2021 the achievements made by the government, namely on the stage of the XX National Sports Week (PON) event, Papua painted a new face that was flushed with joy.

“This is a festival that will erase the old stigma about the backwardness of the Cenderawasih land,” said Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G. Plate in the report “Performance Achievements 2021, Indonesia Resilient Indonesia Grows” which was launched exactly two years after the administration of President Joko Widodo – Vice President KH Ma’ruf Amin, Wednesday (20/10/2021).

According to the Minister of Communication and Information, President Joko Widodo was present to open the Papua PON, which marked a new history in the eastern part of Indonesia. The island’s gates are spread wide, so that the world can also enjoy Torang Bisa’s spirit.

“Papua opens our eyes to the richness of culture, sportsmanship, development of human resources. And, reminds us of the importance of living a safe and prosperous life,” said the Minister of Communication and Information.

The acceleration of developing Papua is guarded through Presidential Instruction Number 9 of 2020. Law Number 2 of 2021 as a revision of Papua’s Special Autonomy confirms the special requirements for Papua’s development. Sowing Superior Humans in Papua

The key to the gate of Papua’s future lies in the hands of the young generation who are healthy, intelligent, and guaranteed education. This foundation will give birth to a strong soul, a firm heart, a competent person who is fully committed to building the land of Papua.

The government has made a similar commitment to produce superior talents from the Cenderawasih earth. Among other things, through the Papuan talent management ecosystem. Data from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) said the 2021 Higher Education Affirmation Scholarships (ADik) totaled 3,648 students. While the Secondary Education Affirmation Scholarship (ADEM) 2021 for class X is 999 students, class XI is 1,363 students, and class XII is 1,420 students.

Quality Bureaucracy

Regarding bureaucratic reform, a quality bureaucratic is needed to manage the strength of human resources and the abundance of Papua’s natural resources. To collect, refreshment, re-improve an effective work culture and clean, transparent, accountable governance. So that the ideals of equitable welfare for all Papuans will certainly be realized.

The Government Agency Performance Accountability System (SAKIP) and Bureaucratic Reform (RB) Index in 2020. In their achievement, Papua and West Papua for the SAKIP Index received a B value. Meanwhile, the RB, Papua and Papua indexes received a CC score.

Previously in 2018 the SAKIB Achievement and RB Index, Papua and West received a B value, while the RB Papua Index received a B and West Papua a CC score. Then in 2019 the achievements of the SAKIB Index and the RB Index of the two provinces received a BB value.

Entrepreneurial Growth

Related to Entrepreneurial Development, Papua’s economic transformation, especially in catching up, requires the active role of entrepreneurs. And, the revitalization of the people’s market. The government prepares facilities, incubation, innovation and creativity centers. Digitization is speeding up to foster start-up businesses.

All of them move in the same fashion and accelerate the Papuan economy. Based on Inspirational Young Papua data, Inspirational Young Papua Developments ranging from MSMEs, agriculture, Social and Culture, Education and Health, Creative Industries and digital technology, as of October 2021 as many as 8,025 members, an increase of 8004, previously in 2019 there were 21 members.
