DPR RI Members Encourage the Acceleration of IT Network Development in Papua

Member of Commission I DPR RI, Yan Permenas Mandenas, is committed to accelerating the development of Information Technology (IT) networks including the availability of 4G internet in the Cenderawasih Earth region.

This commitment was conveyed by Yan Mandenas, after meeting members of the Papua Information Commission (KI) and the Papua Regional Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPID) facilitated by the Head of the Papua Communication and Information Service (Kominfo), some time ago as quoted by Setkab.go.id, Monday ( 3/1/2021).

“So that there is no longer any area in Papua that experiences blank spots or is not covered by telecommunication networks or the internet,” said Yan.

On that occasion he committed and reaffirmed the status of KI and KPID. Where the two institutions must have clarity regarding the filling of personnel and organizational funding.

“So that the funding allocation will be emphasized more in the future. Including we encourage there is an MoU between governors throughout Indonesia and the Minister of Communication and Information regarding the financing of these two institutions. So that in the future everyone is committed to empowering and making this organization a partner for the regional government, “he said. WA

“This is because this institution encourages the role of public supervision to run optimally, to keep public information openness running well, including in the field of broadcasting services,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Papua Communication and Information Agency, Jery A. Yudianto, appreciated the visit of the member of Commission I DPR RI, Yan Permenas Mandenas.

He hopes that the members of the DPR RI from the Electoral District (Dapil) of Papua can help the local government encourage the availability of an IT network in Bumi Cenderawasih, which is currently preparing for the implementation of the XX 2021 National Sports Week (PON).

“So before PON but also after this four-year event is over, the availability of an IT network, more specifically the internet, can be better than before,” he hoped.
